Study: ready for the future

“It's education that's meant to take us into the future that we can't grasp.” — Sir Ken Robinson

Ready for the future

A school life that aims to provide a holistic education

We prepare students for life, helping them to develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning.

We develop thinking and learning skills so they become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged — ready to tackle the demands of tomorrow's world, and capable of shaping a better world for the future.

The curriculum

From Lower Secondary to the International GCSE

Students study the Lower Secondary syllabus for the first three years and the International GCSE for the final two years. The International GCSE is international in outlook but retains local relevance, and is designed to avoid cultural bias and develop essential lifelong skills, including creative thinking and problem-solving.

Examination boards

Harvest Academy prepares secondary students for the International GCSE with the examination boards Cambridge Assessment International Education, Pearson Edexcel and OxfordAQA. Students sit the official Cambridge IGCSE examinations, which are offered in two series a year.

English across the curriculum

Every subject except Malay and Chinese is taught in English, so students build academic English in Mathematics, the sciences and ICT as well as in English lessons.

Recognition

Where can international qualifications take you?

Success in international qualifications often gives students admission to Malaysia's and the world's best universities.

International GCSE qualifications are accepted and valued by universities around the world, including MIT, Harvard and Cambridge. They are recognised as qualifications that prepare and equip students with the skills they need to succeed both at university and beyond. Universities value the independent research and critical thinking skills, as well as the deep subject knowledge, that these qualifications bring.

The International GCSE is the world's most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It is recognised by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is an international passport to progression and success. Developed over 25 years ago, it is tried, tested and trusted by schools worldwide.

How we teach

Google Apps for Education

Technology is transforming teaching and learning. It's helping children learn at their own pace, become creative problem solvers, and effective collaborators. But for those without access, existing learning gaps are only widening. That's why we use Google Apps for Education in the Harvest education system — so every student has access to the skills they need and the quality education they deserve.

Oracy: confident speakers

We raise students' awareness of how they talk and work together, combining authoritative presentation with interactive dialogue. Read about oracy education →
