Harvest STEM Camp 2.0 Takes Flight

Breaking barriers with puppet shows, interactive science, and drone adventures in Malaysia's educational landscape.

Harvest Academy team launching STEM Camp 2.0 with drones and science kits

In response to the unprecedented educational challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia, Harvest Academy is proud to unveil its innovative STEM Camp. Recognising the substantial impact on the academic progress of young learners, Harvest Academy's STEM Camp is a transformative initiative designed to address the decline in academic performance and engage students in a dynamic learning experience.

Recent data from a survey conducted by Universiti Sains Malaysia paints a concerning picture, revealing a significant downturn in academic achievements for 52% of Malaysian students since the onset of the pandemic. The shift to remote learning, coupled with the absence of hands-on activities, has posed notable challenges to student engagement and proficiency in their studies.

The Harvest Academy STEM Camp seeks to revolutionise education by going beyond traditional teaching methods, introducing captivating puppet shows, interactive science experiments, and the exciting world of drone technology. This approach aims to ignite curiosity, nurture critical thinking, and deliver hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The STEM Camp kicks off with enchanting puppetry, providing students with a unique platform to explore storytelling, creativity, and self-expression. Carefully curated puppet shows blend entertainment with educational content, fostering language skills and imaginative thinking. Moving into the realm of science, the camp features a series of interactive experiments that allow students to explore scientific principles hands-on, bringing textbook concepts to life.

The programme's highlight is a drone-flying activity, where children have the opportunity to assemble and fly their drones. This not only adds an extra layer of excitement but also combines practical skills with educational value.

In light of the challenges faced by Malaysian students, Harvest Academy extends a heartfelt invitation to parents, educators, and the wider community to join forces in supporting initiatives like the STEM Camp. Together, let us collaborate to elevate the educational landscape for our children.
