Harvest Academy

School in Perlis (Malaysia) that offers International Education

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education — finally available for Perlisians. A guide for families in Kangar, Arau, Kuala Perlis, Padang Besar and across Perlis.

The only educational institution offering an international secondary syllabus in Perlis

Harvest Academy Malaysia, in Taman Bukit Kaya, Kangar, is the first and only International GCSE Prep School in Perlis. Since 2016, families in Perlis have not needed to send their children to Penang or Kuala Lumpur for an internationally recognised secondary education: students study in English from Year 7 (Secondary 1, age 11+) to Year 11 (Secondary 5), and sit the official Cambridge IGCSE examinations at the end of Year 11.

Harvest Academy serves not only students from Perlis but also from Kedah, Langkawi and further afield. About a third of our students come from outside Perlis, and many live in our boarding house during the week.

Why Perlis families choose Harvest

  • Close to home. Most Perlis families are within 30–40 minutes of the school, so children can come as day students and be home every evening.
  • English every day. English is the medium of instruction and of everyday conversation, in and out of the classroom.
  • Proven results. A 100% pass rate in the Cambridge IGCSE every year from 2021 to 2026; 100% A* or A grades in 2025; 91% A* to B in the May/June 2026 series. See every year's results.
  • University pathways. Our graduates have received offers from universities in Malaysia and around the world, many with scholarships.
  • Character first. The Harvest 55 Practices build courtesy, honesty and responsibility alongside academic work.
  • Save a year. Many families move their child to Year 7 after Standard 5. Read how it works.

A trusted international secondary syllabus

One of the reasons parents choose Harvest Academy is the trusted international secondary syllabus known as the International GCSE — the world's most popular international qualification. Students study the Lower Secondary syllabus for the first three years and the International GCSE for the final two years. The International GCSE is taken in over 150 countries and in more than 4,800 schools around the world, with over 800,000 subject entries each year.

What can the qualification provide?

International GCSE qualifications are accepted by over 1,500 institutions across 78 countries. This gives students an edge to pursue higher education at their dream university. Earning the International GCSE with Harvest Academy in Perlis does not mean that the student must pursue higher education overseas, but it assists students if they want to. Local universities in Malaysia also welcome international qualification learners.

Character matters

While academic achievement is important, Harvest Academy prioritises students' learning attitude and monitors students' character constantly. Teachers listen to students' opinions and then give feedback. With the Harvest 55 Practices, Harvest offers an international approach with British foundations, aiming to push boundaries and motivate pupils academically, personally and culturally. Our students also give back to Perlis, from the H-Angel charity sale in Kangar to student-led community events covered in the local press.
